Jamie Glisson, a Tulsa transplant from South Texas, is a distinguished photojournalist, award-winning photographer, and NPR correspondent for Focus: Black Oklahoma. As a photographer for over two decades, Jamie has covered both public and private events that affect the people and world around her.

When she is not in her West Tulsa studio behind the camera, Jamie works as the Operations Coordinator for Tri-City Collective, a Tulsa-based 501(c)(3) non-profit that builds community through creativity, educational programs, and shared history.

Personally, Jamie is a wife, mother, passionate volunteer, animal lover, karaoke connoisseur, avid tourist, and audiobook enthusiast. Growing up in a military family allowed Jamie the privilege of living and traveling around the world—from Hawaii to Spain to her current home in Tulsa.

Shooting professionally since 2005, Jamie has dedicated herself to capturing meaningful moments and telling powerful stories through her photography.
